WHEN THE SHOE FITS....WEAR IT

Well here we go again….Last week I mentioned to you that I had resumed writing for the Denver Weekly News….As if that were not enough. I am also writing for the Body for Christ and sent them my first article earlier this week. It is so therapeutic to write out thoughts…I am so happy for the opportunity.

Now for our blog.

I was thinking about how many pairs of shoes I have that fit my feet so well that I barely realize they are on. It took a while to realize which shoes provide that privilege. While I own many-many-many-many pairs of shoes, I realize that there are only a couple of pairs of flats that meet the criteria. I am not referring to my sandals. I am not referring to my boots. I am not referring to my heels. I am not referring to most of my shoes, even the ones that should be comfortable. However, there are a couple of pairs of shoes that are available to me such that when I wear them, I barely know they are on.

These shoes are super comfortable. They conform to my feet. They fit my every bump and limp. They fit my toes…they fit my souls.

While they fit my feet, they are not the most attractive. Funny, the more they fit who I am, the more I believe they are not going to be attractive to others. They don’t meet the fashionable expectations. They don’t look new and shiny. What I realize is that when the shoe really fits my foot, It may appeal only to me. This is probably true for your also. Yet the only thing I can think to say….the only advice I have for myself and for you is...

When the shoe fits….Wear it.
